How to Apply and Remove Nail Polish Wraps
It's Easy Peasy - Just prep, peel, and stick!
Nail wraps that are applied well and taken care of can last 2 weeks and beyond!
Practice makes perfect! 👌Â
Prep
- Carefully push back cuticles with the cuticle stick included.
- File and shape your nail, and gently buff the nail surface so the nail polish wraps can adhere better.
- Use an alcohol wipe to remove any excess dust and oils from your nails. Ensure that nails are dry and free from oil before applying.
- Optional - For a longer lasting finish, use a base coat. If you have oily nails and/or an uneven surface, a layer of base coat can help the wrap to adhere to your nails better.
Application
- Measure the nail wrap to your nails to find the best fit. Use a nail wrap slightly smaller than your nail so you have a slight gap from your cuticles and skin.Â
- IMPORTANT - Remove the clear protective film for the wrap in use.
- Peel off selected nail wrap from the silver end.
- Centre the nail wrap and apply to nail close to the nail bed without sticking to cuticles or skin.
- Press down firmly to smooth down the wraps, carefully rubbing out any wrinkles or bubbles.
- Press the wrap over the tip of your nail to cap it.
- Optional - If you have short nails you can cut the nail wrap in half with scissors and use the other half on another nail.
- File downwards at 90 degrees to remove excess wrap with a nail file.
- Repeat on all nails.
- Recommended - Apply top coat for a longer lasting finish. Don't forget to cap the nail tips. Click here for recommended top coats.
Tips for a longer lasting finish
- Always start with dry & clean hands.
- Buff your nail.
- Apply a base coat. Do not use top coat as a base as it's too thick.
- Avoid touching your cuticle and skin & leave a slight gap.
- File downwards at 90 degrees & in one direction only so the wrap doesn't lift and gets dust trapped preventing them from adhering.
- Apply top coat & cap the tips. Avoid quick drying top coats as this can cause shrinkage and bubbles. Click here for recommended top coats.
- Avoid water for a few hours.
- Wear gloves when cleaning or washing dishes.
- Pick things up with finger tips not nails.
- Use warm water instead of hot water for showering and washing dishes.
- If using sunscreens, hand sanitiser, and you wash your hands frequently, a top coat can offer protection and help your wraps last longer.
 Other tips.
- Maximise each pack by cutting the nail wraps into half if you have short nails.
- If the nail wrap shape doesn't fit your nail bed shape, you can gently stretch the wrap to shape.Â
- With the left over wraps, place back into the plastic bag and into an air tight container to stop them drying out. You can use them to mix and match with other leftover wraps.
- If your wraps are a little stiff, apply gentle heat from a hairdryer or heat pad to soften them. This is more relevant to glitter wraps.Â
Removal
- Soak nails in warm water for 10 minutes to loosen the adhesive.
- Carefully peel off the nail polish wraps by getting under the wrap with a cuticle stick or nails.
- Nail polish remover can be used to loosen also.
